INTEL REPORT NEWS · PUBLIC SOURCE STATUS

Source freshness and coverage

A recent successful check means an ingestion check finished. It does not prove complete coverage, independent verification, or the absence of an event. A processing problem can originate in our pipeline or at the provider; it is not confirmation of an upstream outage.

Check targets are operational expectations, not delivery guarantees. “Newest record” is shown only when the importer records that timestamp. Batch counts describe importer work, not total worldwide events.

Coverage targets by source and geography

Operational targets describe which records we try to collect, not a percentage of all real-world events. Compare the latest recorded check, batch count and newest-record time above with these targets.

Source / geographyCategory and targetKnown gaps
USGS / worldwideSelected magnitude 5+ earthquakes in the past-day feed; check target 30 minutesSmaller earthquakes and older unretained events are excluded
NWS / United StatesSelected active weather warnings in rotating bounded batches; check target 30 minutesNot all NWS products or all countries
GDACS / worldwideSelected non-earthquake disaster reports; check target 30 minutesEvents outside GDACS reporting criteria and ingestion delays
Telegram / monitored regional channelsReported conflict, weather and assessment messages; target per-channel check within two hoursCountry and category coverage depend on available sources; silence does not mean safety
